A small boutique with a long memory
Founded in 2017 on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, Florida, Pieces of a Dream is a women's clothing boutique built around pieces worth keeping.
How it started
One rail of clothes on Central Avenue
Pieces of a Dream opened in 2017 with a simple plan: stock a small number of pieces we genuinely believed in, and get to know the people who wear them.
That plan has not changed. We still buy in small quantities, still try everything on before it reaches the rail, and still write our own notes about how each piece fits. What changed is that the shop now reaches customers across the United States as well as the neighbours who walk in the door.
Our name comes from the patchwork way a wardrobe actually gets built — a piece here, a piece there, slowly adding up to something that feels entirely like you.
Design philosophy
What we look for before a piece makes the rail
Three filters, applied to every single item in the collection.

Fabric that moves
We favour fluid drape, natural fibres and weight you can feel. If a fabric feels thin, scratchy or stiff in the hand, it does not come home with us.

Fit across real bodies
Every piece is tried on in more than one size before we commit. We would rather carry fewer styles than stock something that only works on one shape.

Colour that combines
Our buying is deliberately tonal — ivory, chocolate, camel, indigo and black. Anything we add has to work with what is already on the rail.
The team
The people behind the rail
Our boutique is run by a small team of stylists and buyers who work the shop floor. When you email us, you are writing to the same people who unpacked the delivery, steamed the dress and wrote the fit notes on the product page.
That means we can answer the practical questions properly: whether a sleeve runs long, whether a fabric creases in Florida humidity, whether the waist sits where you expect. Ask us before you buy.
Our values
Buy less, choose better, wear it longer
We are a small business, not a sustainability icon, and we will not pretend otherwise. But we do buy in small quantities, we do keep classic shapes in the collection season after season, and we do tell you honestly how to look after what you buy so it lasts.
If a piece is not right for you, return it within 30 days rather than leaving it in the wardrobe. We would rather have it back on the rail.
